Land Rover Prepares to Invade India

Even with the still unclear and undecided plans of its mother company, Land Rover is still raring to establish its name in foreign soils. Just this week, Land Rover has announced its plans to better ingrain its market positioning in India through a stragetic model introduction coupled with a reduction in said model’s standard pricing.

The Land Rover LR2

Land Rover’s sole India distributor, Navnit Motors, is aiming to acquire another model in its existing lineup, specifically the Land Rover LR2. If statistics would be referred to, the Land Rover LR2 is a renowned success for the car company, as said model has aided the brand to attain its best sales so far this year. This achievement is said to be mostly due to the highly performing Land Rover Parts and Land Rover Accessories that combined into a highly performing unit, and tagged thus far as the company’s most fuel-efficient model.

What’s best about this is that even with the LR2’s exceptional standing, Land Rover and Navnit Motors have agreed to make it more affordable in India. In fact, the LR2 will be the cheapest of the Land Rover variants in the country, with a working price of around RS 35 Lakh.

At present, Land Rover sales performance in India is still a bit minuscule but it is said to be picking up its pace. Navnit Motors is estimating to double the annual volume to over 60 units this year as a second outlet is being added to the enterprise.

The Land Rover LR2 is expected to boost the Land Rover sales in India, as the market is currently geared towards compact SUVs. With the advent of the LR2, Land Rover can have a rejoinder to the current market hold of Honda’s CR-V and Suzuki’s Vitara.
